Tbh the push for men to wear makeup is rooted in consumerism and you’d be lying if you didn’t acknowledge this, if it was really abt leveling the beauty standards we should just cancel makeup in general but that’s not profitable at all is it

Makeup doesn’t only cover acne, it also makes the problem worse, and for what? As a teen I always thought people with acne were attractive. At the very least it doesn’t look inherently bad, and covering your skin only feeds into insecurities. Personally I think that the less teens who feel pressured to cover it up, the better.

I always felt bad for guys in high school, because they didn’t have an “acceptable” way to cover their acne…but girls could at least try! And, yes, while beauty culture involves consumerism, literally every other “culture” does, too.
